A volunteer membership organization formed in June 1959 to build, maintain, and promote the Buckeye Trail, Ohio's state trail. At more than 1,400 miles it is the longest loop hiking trail in the U.S., traversing 47 counties and passing through more than 100 towns; legendary hiker Emma 'Grandma' Gatewood was a founding member.
