It has approximately 30,000 members organized into 27 local chapters across New York and New Jersey, and runs conservation, education, and natural-history programs.

Established in 1928, the Cornell Outing Club is a community of outdoor-lovers dedicated to getting Cornell and Ithaca community members outside. With over 100 members, it leads trips of all types and skill levels (including hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing), to destinations such as the Adirondacks and Catskills.
