Adventure Touring in Colorado

Colorado is the geographic center of American mountain adventure tourism. The Arkansas River through Browns Canyon National Monument and the Royal Gorge supports more guided whitewater raft guests than nearly any river corridor in the country. The Rocky Mountain high country draws guided hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and Jeep touring operations that run June through September across the Front Range and Western Slope. Snowmobile touring in Grand Lake, Leadville, and Summit County accesses terrain above treeline from December through March. The San Juan Mountains in the southwest anchor guided horseback and 4×4 touring in one of the most dramatic landscapes in North America.
