  The AK Sled Dog Tours was one of the best activities that my wife and I did during our trip to Alaska. I was extremely impressed by the staffs knowledge, compassion, and enthusiasm about what they do for the dogs. It was entertaining to learn about the Iditarod race the dogs get to perform in and how several of them are actual winners! My favorite part of the visit was getting to do a dry sled run and actually be pulled on a wheeled sled by the dogs. It was great practice and exercise for the dogs aspiring to win the Iditarod race one day. My wife’s favorite part was getting to pet the race dogs who were well behaved and their puppies who were absolutely adorable. Kudos to this company and their employees (including the dogs) who make it such an amazing place to come to. I recommend that anyone who’s visiting Talkeetna,AK come check out the sled dogs and have one of the best experiences of their trip to Alaska.

  Both fun and informative! As a home to a recent Iditarod champion, there’s plenty of discussion of the importance of the race to the sled dog community as well as artifacts from various wins Carrie was great both as a guide for our cart and also a guide to the wonderful dogs of the kennel and who drew our sled, such as Gouda and Flounder! She was also very knowledgeable for all the questions us east coast folks had to this very Alaskan thing! Despite their size the sled dogs were very kind and friendly. It’s the puppies you got to watch out for! Great experience if you’re into dogs in general, on top of a good 20-30 minute ride around back trails and through mud in an all wheeler cart

  This was such a FANTASTIC experience! From the pick up staff member Josiah (also tour member) and Clark my Mushing Asst to of course encoutnering all the dogs and EVEN puppies! The education background and experience was Top Notch! My parents are 73 years old and were able to ride in the ATV while I wanted to try my hand at mushing (45 year old woman). They included my mom to shout out commands to include her in the experience which was heartwarming to me! You can really tell that ALL of thse dogs are well loved and cared for. This is truly an event for ALL ages! Safety was key and we had a fabulous time! Such a wonderful time spent with my parents!

  What a great experience! The handlers and guides were very welcoming and skilled. Knew the history, the dogs, and gave us a great experience. We were able to "drive" the dogs over a 3mile course - the dogs were amazingly friendly and ready to go! After spending 3 hours on the tour and with the dogs, the team, and the pups, you could tell this was, sincerely, a family. They care for those dogs more than.. well, let's just say, they are equals. Well worth the experience if you're up for a low impact time. Be prepared just as you would to hike - the weather is unpredictable! Hoodie, pants, warm clothes etc. the driver will be standing for about an hour, steering 'basically' a bike. It's so cool.
