Eagle River is the self-declared snowmobile capital of the world, host of the World Championship Snowmobile Derby since 1964, and the hub of the Vilas County trail system that connects Three Lakes, Sayner, St. Germain, and Land O'Lakes through hundreds of miles of forested corridor and frozen lake crossings. Guides run multi-day inn-to-inn trips that lodge in classic Northwoods supper-club towns, day rides on the Heart of Vilas County loop, and beginner sessions for first-time riders.
