Mount Washington Hiking Guides

Pinkham Notch, NH
Hiking ToursSnowmobile Tours

Guided summit hikes and winter mountaineering on Mount Washington — at 6,288 feet the highest peak in the Northeast and home to some of the most extreme weather on Earth, with hurricane-force winds recorded on more than 100 days a year and a former world-record gust of 231 mph. Our year-round guided ascents stage from Pinkham Notch on the AMC side and follow the Tuckerman Ravine trail in summer or the more sheltered Lion Head winter route from November through May. Winter trips include full mountaineering instruction in crampon and ice axe technique, with rentals provided, and our guides are AMGA single-pitch certified and trained in the Presidential Range's notoriously fast-moving weather windows. Summer hikes traverse the alpine zone above treeline where arctic-alpine plant communities found nowhere else in the eastern US cling to the krummholz and rock fields. We also offer multi-day Presidential Range traverses linking the AMC hut system from Madison Spring to Lakes of the Clouds.

White Mountain Snowmobile

Pittsburg, NH
Snowmobile Tours

Guided snowmobile tours on New Hampshire's 7,000-mile trail network, threading through White Mountain National Forest, the Great North Woods, and the Connecticut Lakes corridor along the Quebec border. Pittsburg, the largest township east of the Mississippi by area, sits at the headwaters of the Connecticut River where four wilderness lakes — First, Second, Third, and Fourth Connecticut — anchor a snowmobiling region with some of the most reliable snowpack in the Lower 48. Our tours run the famous Corridor 5 north into the Quebec trail system, loop through the moose-rich bogs around Magalloway Mountain, and cross frozen Back Lake at sunset. Late-model Ski-Doo touring sleds, full gear packages, and trailside lunches at the Pittsburg general stores are included, and our guides hold New Hampshire OHRV instructor certifications. Season runs from mid-December through late March, with the Connecticut Lakes typically holding rideable snow well into April most years.
