Beavers Bend Kayak & Fishing

Broken Bow, OK
Fishing & HuntingWhitewater Rafting

Guided trout fishing and kayak tours on the Lower Mountain Fork River below Broken Bow Lake in the Ouachita National Forest of southeastern Oklahoma. The Lower Mountain Fork is Oklahoma's premier cold-water trout tailwater — fed by deep releases from Broken Bow Dam and stocked year-round with rainbow and brown trout up to trophy size. Wade and float trips cover the Re-Regulation Dam zone, the Spillway Creek confluence, and the Lower Mountain Fork canyon stretches inside Beavers Bend State Park. Fly fishing, light spinning, and beginner instruction are all available, along with scenic kayak tours through the cypress-lined lower river. The Ouachita pine-and-hardwood corridor draws bald eagles, river otters, and excellent fall foliage. Trips run year-round with peak conditions November through May.

Illinois River Floats

Tahlequah, OK
Whitewater Rafting

Guided canoe and kayak float trips on the Illinois River near Tahlequah — Oklahoma's signature spring-fed Ozark float corridor on the western edge of the Ozark Plateau. The Illinois runs clear and cool over gravel shoals beneath limestone bluffs, cottonwood galleries, and the occasional towering sycamore, with smallmouth bass holding in nearly every riffle. Half-day floats cover the classic Round Hollow to Riverside Park stretch; full-day trips run from War Eagle through Eagle Bluff and the deepest canyon section of the river. The corridor is a state-designated Scenic River and the ancestral homeland of the Cherokee Nation, whose capital sits in Tahlequah just downstream. Floats run April through October with shuttle and gear included.
